Macao saw a 3.0 percent unemployment rate in the second quarter, a year-on-year drop of 0.9 percent, according to official statistics issued in Macao Tuesday.

The figures from the government-run Statistics and Census Service showed that Macao's total labor force was estimated at 305,600 in the period.

The figures showed that some 54 percent of the employed population was male in the second quarter.

The special administrative region has a population of 580,000.
