East China's Shandong Province, a traditional agricultural
production base, exported US$1.63 billion worth of farm produce in
the first two months of this year, a growth of 46.1 percent
year-on-year, local customs sources said on Thursday.
The total included US$400 million worth of aquatic
products, up 41.4 percent, US$190 million worth of apples and apple
juice, up 100 percent, and US$290 million worth of vegetables, up
29.4 percent.
According to local sources, from January to February,
Shandong exported US$350 million worth of farm produce to the
European Union, up 83 percent, US$250 million to the United States,
up 83.1 percent, and US$440 million to Japan, up 18.2
percent.
