Beijing Telephone Subscribers Exceed 20 million

The Chinese Ministry of Information Industry says the number of Beijing's telephone subscriber exceeded 20 million at the end of August, leading the country in the number of telephone users.

Subscribers of fixed phone in the capital city reach about 7.7 million and nearly 13 million people now have access to mobile phone.

Five telecommunication companies have entered the market providing new services for users.

The municipal government has called on public management to improve the industries infrastructure.
