Most Areas Have Minimum Wages
Most areas on the Chinese mainland had minimum wage standards, with Shenzhen's minimum wages the highest, Zhang Mingqi, a senior official of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, said Sunday.

Only the Tibet Autonomous Region did not issue minimum wage standards, but it had also established a system to ensure that workers were paid, said Zhang.

The minimum wage of 600 yuan (US$73) a month in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone topped the nation. Shanghai's minimum monthly wage is 570 yuan (US$69) and Beijing's is 495 yuan (US$60).

Zhang gave details at a promotion campaign to implement minimum wage regulations that became effective March 1.
