China will build up city-specific climate disaster warning systems
next year.
An
official from the China Meteorological Administration says the
system was first set up in Hong Kong, enabling citizens to receive
severe weather warnings well ahead of time.
The system has already been installed in mainland cities and
provinces including the cities of Shanghai, Guangzhou and Fujian
province, which has played an important role in reducing the damage
disasters cause.
The Chinese government is expected to set up the system in cities
around the country.
