China Threatened by Massive Rainfall
Massive rainfall is threatening large parts of China from Guangxi in the southwest to Shandong in the east, with thousands already evacuated because of floods.

In Shandong, nearly a million local people are affected by heavy rain, while people in Guangxi are suffering from floods, landslides and power cut-offs.

More than 400,000 hectares of farmland are flooded in central Hubei Province, as local rivers, lakes and reservoirs all rise to dangerous levels.

Four people have died in heavy floods in west China's Gansu Province.

Heavy rains and stormy weather are expected in many areas around the country as the summer's major flood season officially begins.
