China reported a nearly 33 percent surge in oil imports in the
first half of this year as robust economic growth boosted demand
for refined oil products.
The General administration of customs says crude oil imports hit
43.8 million tons in the first six months.
Imports are expected to slow in July and August, with full-year
imports likely to reach a record 75-80 million tones.
