China Cooperating with US in SARS Treatment
Chinese health officials and scholars and specialists from the United States held a seminar Monday for better cooperation in preventing and treating severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

The participants exchanged information about the control over and research on SARS, and discussed possible cooperation between China and the United States in this field, said Li Xueyong, Chinese vice-minister of science and technology.

The two sides also talked about pathogen separation, sequence bioinformatics and PCR test technology.

The US specialists were headed by W. Ian Lipkin, a noted US specialist on virus study.
