Daily GDP of Shanghai up 10.9%
Shanghai generated gross domestic product of 1.48 billion yuan (US$178.30 million) every day in 2002, a 10.9 percent growth year-on-year, according to the Shanghai Municipal Statistics Bureau.

The city locked up a daily fixed asset investment of 591 million yuan in the period, up 8.2 percent over the previous year, bureau officials revealed. Daily retail sales topped 558 million yuan last year, a rise of 48.05 million. The city imported goods worth US$111.26 million and exported goods worth US$87.82 million a day last year.
