China's Trade Union Leader Meets Foreign Trade Union Leaders

Wang Zhaoguo, chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), met on Thursday with leaders of international and regional trade unions who are for the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games.

The trade unions' leaders are George Mavrikos, general secretary of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), Hassan Sunmonu, secretary-general of the Organization of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU), Diop Demba, assistant secretary-general of OATUU and Rajab Maatouk, deputy general secretary of the International Confederation of Arab Trade Unions (ICATU).

Wang, who is also vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, appreciated their coming for the opening ceremony and firm support to the Beijing Olympics.

He said the Chinese are confident to host a unique and high-standard Olympic Games by fully implementing the concept of the Green Olympics and the Hi-tech Olympics.
