Epidemic Prevention Begins in Beichuan

Full-scale anti-epidemic work has started in Beichuan County after the risks of the Tangjiashan barrier lake were relieved.

A month after the earthquake, Beichuan County is almost deserted, with only ruins and rubble left. A group of soldiers from the Chengdu Chemical Defense Regiment are busy disinfecting the areas to prevent the spread of diseases.

Residents have all been relocated to open farmland to avoid aftershocks and mudslides. No outbreak of diseases has been reported so far.
