Sichuan Industrial Enterprises Lose More Than 200 Bln Yuan in Earthquake

Sichuan industrial enterprises suffered 204 billion yuan (about US$29.14 billion) in economic loss from the recent earthquake, according to statistics from the State Council's disaster relief headquarters released on Thursday.

According to official data, as of May 28 more than 20,000 enterprises in Sichuan were damaged by the 8.0-magnitude quake that jolted southwest Sichuan Province on May 12.

In particular, enterprises in Deyang, Chengdu, Mianyang, Guangyuan, Aba and Ya'an lost 198.1 billion yuan, accounting for 97 percent of the total.
