Int'l Rescue Team, Relief Materials Arrive in Chengdu

Over the past week, planes carrying rescue teams and aid from around the world have arrived at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport.

Airplanes from France, the US, Russia and Italy, as well as other countries have landed at Chendu Shuangliu International Airport. They are transporting rescue teams and rescue materials. The Sichuan Frontier Inspection Team have been conducting inspections -- helping to get goods and rescue teams to quake-hit disaster areas as quickly as possible.

Between last Tuesday and Sunday the Sichuan frontier inspection team helped clear planes transporting rescue goods from the US, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore as well as China's Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan Island.

A total of fifteen planes were approved during this period including 268 rescue and medical workers, five rescue vehicles, 10 specially-trained rescue dogs and over 400 tons of aid materials.
