China has received 10.834 billion yuan (US4$1.55 billion) in cash and goods for earthquake relief from donors at home and abroad as of 1:00 PM Monday, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA).
These include 8.927 billion yuan in cash and 1.909 billion yuan worth of relief materials, the ministry said.
The MCA had received donations of 361 million yuan and the China Charity Federation had received about 603 million yuan.
Local governments, domestic companies and social institutions had donated 6.891 billion yuan to the affected areas.
The Red Cross Society of China announced it had received 2.744 billion yuan worth of relief supplies as of 11:00 AM on Monday from domestic and foreign donors and had delivered 631 million yuan in cash and goods to affected areas.
Donations from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign countries and regions reached 1.989 billion yuan.
The disaster relief fund from the central budget rose to 5.81 billion yuan as of 3:00 PM Monday, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The 8-magnitude quake, centered in Wenchuan County in Sichuan Province, affected many parts of the country. The death toll has risen to 34,073 as of Monday noon, according to the earthquake relief headquarters of the State Council (cabinet).
