A 5.4-magnitude aftershock hit Qingchuan County of southwestern Sichuan Province at 2:06 PM Monday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter of the latest tremor is located at 32.5 degrees north latitude and 105.3 degrees east longitude, it said.
The tremor was the latest major quake monitored following 24 aftershocks above magnitude 5 that rocked the hardest-hit area in Sichuan.
No reports of casualties or damage in the area have been received so far.
As of 8:00 PM Sunday, 149 aftershocks measuring 4 or higher on the Richter scale had been monitored in areas hit by a 8.0-magnitude earthquake on May 12, according to the China Seismological Bureau.
The biggest aftershock reported so far is a 6.1-magnitude quake at 3:07 PM on May 13.
A 6.0-magnitude aftershock jolted Jiangyou City of southwest China's Sichuan Province at 1:08 AM on Sunday. Three people have been confirmed dead and 1,006 were injured.
