Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said on Saturday Africa's voice was heard and success was achieved at the just-ended summit of the Group of 20 (G20).

Meles also said attention was given to Africa's voice as the necessary preparation was carried out earlier.

Meles made the statement while discussing with Norbert Lammert, president of the German Parliament (Bundestag). The Ethiopian prime minister said the summit has given due attention to affairs of the continent, adding that major points were discussed by concerned bodies.

The prime minister said Ethiopia and Germany have firm bilateral relations, expressing appreciation to Germany for the capacity building assistance being provided to Ethiopia.

Lammert on the occasion said the existing cooperation between Ethiopia and Germany is based on firm foundation and mutual interest.

Lammert is in Ethiopia to participate the 120th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, to be held this coming Sunday. Over 1, 700 participants are expected to take part in the meeting, according to the organizing committee.
