Indian Prime Minister Manhohan Singh is expected to have a meeting with US President Barack Obama at the summit of the Group of 20 leading economies to be held in London next month, reported the private Indo-Asian News Service on Thursday.

The report quoted Indian Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon as saying in Washington on Wednesday that India and the United States both hope that Obama and Singh would meet on the sidelines of the summit.

"We both hope there would be a meeting between the two leaders," the report quoted him as saying at the end of a visit to Washington.

Menon also said US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has also expressed her wish to visit India soon.

The Indian official made a four-day visit to the US capital to discuss with US officials a range of issues including Afghanistan, Indian-Pakistan relations and bilateral political and economic ties, according to local media reports.
