Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his US counterpart Barack Obama will sign joint declarations on bilateral ties and strategic arms reduction at a G20 summit in London, a presidential aide said on Saturday, news agencies reported.

"We will have two presidential statements, a general one about Russian-US relations, and one about strategic offensive arms," Sergei Prikhodko said ahead of the two leaders' first meeting on April 1.

"The texts are shaping up nicely and should become the starting point for our future work," he was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

Medvedev will also meet with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Chinese President Hu Jintao, and Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd on the sidelines of the G20 summit, the presidential aide said.

The Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), signed between the Soviet Union and the United States in 1991, is due to expire in December. Russia and the United States are expected to resume talks on a follow-up to the treaty.
