The US Senate will vote on the US$789 billion economic stimulus plan on Friday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said on Thursday.

The House of Representatives also plans to vote on the bill on Friday morning, local media reported.

If both chambers pass the bill, it would go to President Barack Obama for his signature.

The Senate and House reached agreement on the massive stimulus package on Wednesday.

According to the lawmakers, 35 percent of the bill would be tax cuts, and 65 percent would be spending.
