Brazil registered an US$87.4 billion net inflow in 2007.

Brazil's financial account registered a negative result of US$48.8 billion in 2008, while in 2007 it registered a US$10.7 billion surplus.

Brazil's current account registered a surplus of US$47.9 billion last year, down from US$76.7 billion in 2007. Exports totaled US$187.9 billion, while imports reached US$140 billion.

According to the Central Bank, last year's results were affected by a massive capital outflow that increased at the end of the year with the escalation of the international financial crisis.
