Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Monday stressed the importance of the G20 meeting in his weekly radio show "Breakfast with the President."

Lula said the interaction of all developed and emerging countries will be important to prevent another international financial crisis.

"Finally, all countries agreed that we need to make common decisions," he said.

The president said the G20 summit was "the most important step in the last decades" to promote a more equal representation in international forums. He also reaffirmed his commitment to resuming negotiations of the WTO's Doha Development Round.

Signing the Doha agreement, Lula said, would demonstrate that world leaders are acting with responsibility and making the necessary decisions.

"The meeting was a milestone in the 21st century's history... I believe that we are on the right track to fight this crisis and prevent others," he said.
