The Ministry of Civil Affairs on Wednesday said that the landslides and mud-rock flows in Yunnan Province, which left 40 dead and 43 missing, had caused losses of up to 592 million yuan (US$86.6 million).
The province's electricity, transport, hydropower, telecommunications, education and sanitation facilities were damaged or destroyed.
The ministry is to allocate 13 million yuan (US$1.9 million) for relief work in the province.
