A game in Mexico City's Aztec Stadium has to be played before an empty house on Sunday as swine flu fears forced stadiums to be closed.

The capacity 105,000 Aztec Stadium was empty when Mexico City's America team played at the normally jam-packed stadium against Tecos.

Fans had to watch TV at home as the home team suffered a 2-1 loss.

The city's 66,000-seater Olympic University Stadium was also empty as the Pumas drew 1-1 with Chivas.

Mexico's football federation decided to play Mexico City's two Sunday games behind closed doors, in order to help prevent the spread of a flu virus that is thought to have claimed 81 lives in Mexico alone.
