Barca coach Luis Enrique pleased with signings, but neutral in elections

FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has welcomed the decision to sign Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan.

Turan becomes Barcelona's second signing of the summer along with Sevilla wing back Aleix Vidal and although neither of them can play before the start of January due to a FIFA ban on new signings, the coach showed his satisfaction.

"He will be an important player for us in the attacking side of things. It is hard to get the ball of him. I want him to be involved as soon as possible and we will look for friendly games so he has have minutes on the pitch;" he commented.

"My job was to plan the start of the season and I congratulate the Board of Directors for signing Arda, he is a key player as is Aleix Vidal," said the Barca coach, who preferred not to discuss possible interest in Juventus midfielder, Paul Pogba.

"I don't talk about players who are not at Barcelona... although I would be delighted to be able to speak about him next week to whoever is the new president," was his replay when asked about the Frenchman.

The signings arrived in the middle of the campaign for the election of a new Barca president, with the vote held this coming Saturday between four candidates, with the favorites being outgoing President, Josep Maria Bartomeu and former President, Joan Laporta.

Luis Enrique preferred not to comment about who he wanted to win, saying "club members have the vote, although that does include me. The four candidates have their supporters and the ability to run the club. As coach I have to stay on the sidelines."

The coach did however add, "I know who I will be voting for." Endite
